Cookie Policy — ATOM Interstate

The Short Version

ATOM does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies. We use browser storage on your device (localStorage and IndexedDB) only for what the app needs to work: keeping you signed in, your settings, and a copy of your tour so ATOM works offline. That storage is strictly necessary, so it needs no consent under the UK and EU cookie rules (PECR and the ePrivacy rules). ATOM's public pages store nothing on your device at all.

The one optional thing is ATOM's own record of which screens you use. In the UK, the EU, the EEA and Switzerland it is tied to your account only once you say yes (ATOM asks once, in the app); elsewhere it is on by default. Either way you can change it any time in Settings → Share how I use ATOM.

All of the above are strictly necessary for the Service to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking the app.

What We Don't Use

No Google Analytics and no analytics cookies. To count visits we use Plausible inside the app and our own count on our public pages; neither sets a cookie or collects personal information (see our Privacy Policy). ATOM's own record of which screens you use inside the app sets no cookie either; it is tied to your account only as described above (see which screens you use)
No advertising or retargeting cookies
No social media pixels
Some features load another company's player or map in your browser (Spotify, Apple Music, Vimeo, Google Maps, map tiles, Plaid for bank connections). Only when you use them; those companies may then set their own cookies under their own policies.
No tracking that follows you to other websites

Your Rights

You can clear all locally stored data at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage for atominterstate.app (Browser Settings → Privacy → Clear Site Data). This will log you out and remove locally cached tour data. Your data stored in the cloud (Supabase) is unaffected and will re-sync on your next login.
