What goes in a tour budget

Income first: guarantees, plus merch, VIP and any backend you expect. Then what comes off the top (agent, manager, business manager commissions), then the cost of the road: pay, per diem, hotels, travel and production.

How it adds up

  • Show income is shows times the average guarantee.
  • Commissions are a percentage of show income.
  • Pay is the weekly rate times weeks on the road (days divided by 7).
  • Per diem is people times the daily rate times days. Hotels are rooms times nights times the rate.

Commission rates vary

The rates here are a starting point to edit. Use the ones in your own agreements.
