What ATOM records about how you use it

Which screens you use and for how long, plus the occasional recommend question, tied to your account unless you turn it off in Settings; never what you type, never sold

What ATOM records about how you use it. ATOM keeps its own simple count of how the app gets used, so the founders can see what works and what to fix.

WHAT IS RECORDED: which screens you open (the kind of screen, like Day Sheets or Settlements, and which tab of it, like the day's Hotel or Guest List tab; never which day, show or person), which of ATOM's main buttons you tap (the button, like Directions or Share, never what is on it), how long you actively use each one (the clock stops when the app is in the background or nobody has touched it for 2 minutes), the day of the week and hour in your own time zone, and your device type (phone, tablet or computer; web, iPhone app or Mac app).

REAL ACTIONS IN A TOUR: ATOM also counts saves, sends and invites in each tour: which tour, which section (like Money or Advance) and what kind of action, never what you entered. With sharing off, the tour still counts but your name is not attached.

WHAT IS NEVER RECORDED: anything you type (one exception: a question YO ATOM or ATOM 101 could not answer is kept with no name or account, see ATOM 101), your tour data, money, contacts, files, your IP address or your browser details.

TOTALS ACROSS ATOM TOURS: ATOM 101 can show anonymous totals like the median per diem, only from 5 or more accounts, never a tour or account. Turning off Share how I use ATOM also leaves your tours out.

TIED TO YOUR ACCOUNT, UNLESS YOU TURN IT OFF: Settings > Account > Share how I use ATOM to help improve it. On by default, except in the UK, the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland: there it stays off until you say yes (ATOM asks once, with a small card on your start screen). Turn it off and your screens are still counted, but without your name, and what was already recorded under your name is erased. It follows your login to every device. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, ATOM counts without your name on that browser no matter what the switch says. The Test Drive demo is never tied to anyone.

WHO SEES IT AND WHY: only the ATOM founders, to improve ATOM and to reach out to you directly (for example, to ask how a screen is working for you). It is never sold and never used for ads. Your TM and tour mates cannot see it.

THE RECOMMEND QUESTION: now and then (at most once every 90 days, and never in your first 14 days) a small card on your start screen asks how likely you are to recommend ATOM, from 0 to 10, with an optional one-line reason. Tap Not now to skip it; it will not ask again for 90 days. Your answer and comment are kept with your account (plus your plan, role and device type at that moment), or without your name if Share how I use ATOM is off. Only the founders see them, used only to improve ATOM. Never shown on the Test Drive.

EMAILS: emails the ATOM founders send you may include a small image that tells us whether the email was opened.

PLAUSIBLE: separately, ATOM uses Plausible for anonymous page counts with no cookies and no personal information. ATOM's public pages (home, free tools, Mac download) count visits without storing anything on your device.

DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT erases this usage record and your recommend answers too. ATOM keeps only an anonymous count that an account closed (signup month, plan, how it joined, role, and why it closed), with no name or contact details. The full details are in the Privacy Policy (Settings > Help > Privacy).
