Add a Date puts one day on the calendar: a show, festival, travel day, day off, rehearsal and the rest.
WHERE IT LIVES: Tour Book > Calendar > Add Date (tour admins).
HOW IT WORKS:
1. Tour: ATOM picks the tour whose dates cover the day you choose (a November 2026 date goes in your 2026 tour). Change the date and the tour follows, unless you picked one yourself. A Goes into box always shows the tour and its dates, and the tour list shows every tour's dates.
2. Pick the day type first. Nothing is assumed.
3. For a show or festival, an optional Event name comes first: only when the event has its own name (a summit, a festival at a fairground). The event leads the day; the venue stays the place. Then type the venue and pick the Google match. The address, city, state, ZIP and country fill in, plus the venue's phone and map point. Every box stays editable, and you can type the address yourself for a venue Google doesn't know.
4. Save & add another keeps the window open for the next night.
FAILSAFES (the wrong tour or year):
- Pick a tour by hand that the date doesn't belong to and a warning says which tour it belongs to, with Put it in that tour. A save that would stretch a tour into another year is called out too.
- Even without the window, ATOM won't file a date into a tour when another tour's dates already cover it; it goes to that tour.
- Add a Run works the same way, and a date that's booked in any tour shows as already booked, so a run can't add a second copy.
- Open a day from another year and the year picker at the top moves to that day's year.
- When two tours overlap on a date for a long stretch, the most recent tour wins everywhere (calendar, the year ATOM opens in, Money's tour totals).
- NYE runs are fine: a tour can run a few days past New Year (Dec 31 plus Jan 1 or 2 settled on the old year's tour). A short overlap like that is treated as on purpose: those days stay on the tour that holds them, with no warning and no Fix banner.
FIX TOUR DATES: if a tour's dates ever run over a later tour's dates (for example a 2025 tour stretched into 2026), tour admins see a warning on the Calendar with Fix tour dates. It moves the days that sit inside the later tour over there and ends the earlier tour on its own last day. Nothing is deleted, settlements stay attached, and Money's Restore can undo it.
WHEN A SHOW SITS IN ANOTHER TOUR: the day still shows the show, never Day Off.
For a whole run of dates at once, use Add a Run.
