Back and Forward are the ‹ › arrows right next to the ATOM logo at the top of every screen. They work like a web browser's arrows, but only through the screens you opened inside ATOM.
HOW IT WORKS:
- ‹ Back takes you to the screen you were on before (for example: Venue tab → Merch sheet → Back puts you on the Venue tab again).
- › Forward lights up after you go back, and takes you forward again.
- An arrow is dimmed when there's nowhere to go. Back never takes you out of ATOM.
UNSAVED WORK:
If the screen you're on has changes you haven't saved, ATOM asks before you leave it, whether you tap the arrows, the ATOM logo, a menu, the sidebar, a tab in Money or any link to another screen (switching tabs on the same day page never asks, since you're still on that day): Save and go saves and then moves, Leave without saving throws the changes away, Stay keeps you where you are. If the save can't go through (for example a per diem run still missing its daily rate), you stay put and the page says what's missing. Closing or reloading the browser tab with unsaved changes gets the browser's own "Leave site?" warning. Screens that ask: a per diem run you're building, a pay period in Crew Pay, a day page in Edit, the Advance pages (Hospitality, Production, Backline, Logistics, Downloads), a rider you're building in Rider Builder (Stay or Leave only: a build is sent, not saved), Teleprompter lyrics, Merch count, and your own info page. A contact card already asks before it closes. Screens that save as you type (the Budget, Stage Plot, Parking Map) have nothing to lose, so they never ask.
ON A PHONE:
Only ‹ Back shows, and only when there's a screen to go back to. It's the back button the phone app and the home-screen app otherwise don't have.
NOT THE SAME AS THE DAY ARROWS:
On a day page, the ‹ › beside the date move to the previous or next DAY. The arrows by the logo move through the screens you visited.
