Bunk Alley is the 3D bunk-assignment tool for the tour bus.
WHAT YOU SEE:
A 3D model of the coach: nose and driver bay, front lounge, the bunk bay, galley, and back lounge. Drag the canvas to rotate, scroll or pinch to zoom. Click a bunk to open it, then pick a name from the crew list. Click an assigned bunk to see that person's contact card.
MULTIPLE BUSES:
Add a bus for every coach on the run: band bus, crew bus, production bus. Each has its own layout and its own chart. One person can only be in one bunk across all of them: assigning someone to a new bunk clears their old one automatically, even on a different bus.
LAYOUTS:
Pick the layout that matches the coach you chartered. A STANDARD bunk is one of three stacked in the bay, roughly 22 inches of sit-up room. You slide in flat. A CONDO bunk splits the same height two ways instead of three, roughly 36 inches, so you can sit up. Fewer beds, more room.
- Standard 12: three tiers a side. The default touring rig.
- Condo 8: all condo, four a side.
- Blend 10: six standard on the driver side, four condo on the pax side. The most common band bus.
- Standard 9 + Wardrobe: pax side gives up a column to hanging space.
- Crew 14 / Crew 16. Extra berths carved out of the lounges.
- Rear stateroom variants convert the back lounge to a private room.
Switching layout does not lose anybody. If the new layout has fewer bunks, whoever loses a slot moves to a "needs a bunk" list at the top of the panel. Tap a name, then tap a free bunk to re-seat them.
HOLDS:
A bunk can be spoken for without a person in it. Hold one as the driver's bunk, as a junk bunk for bags and shoes, or out of service. Held bunks come off the crew count so the "assigned" number reflects real beds.
BUNK PREFERENCES:
Whatever you put in a contact's "Preferred bunk (bus)" field shows next to their name in the crew picker, and anyone whose preference matches the bunk you have open floats to the top of the list.
BUS INFO:
Under the bus tabs, Bus info holds what the crew riding that coach need in hand: the coach's name (the bus company's own name for it), the driver's name and cell, year, make and model, the door code, door notes (how to work the lock, like "press the last two buttons at the same time" or "press and hold 9 until it locks"), and the Wi-Fi name and password, each with a Copy button. Tap Bus info to open it. Who sees the door code, door notes and Wi-Fi: tour managers, production managers and admins, plus the people riding that coach (anyone with a bunk on that bus, and its driver and co-driver). Everyone else on the tour can still see the coach's name, number and driver, but never the door code or Wi-Fi, even in Production > Driver. A tour manager taps Edit bus info (or Add bus info the first time) to fill it in. It is saved on the coach's record in Production > Driver, so Fleet and Bunk Alley always show the same thing, and a tour that never set up Fleet gets a Fleet record made for the coach the first time you save. The door code and Wi-Fi password are never printed on the bunk chart.
SHARE CHART:
Under Bus info, a tour manager or production manager taps Share chart to send one bus's chart as a link (text it, or copy it). Whoever opens it, no login needed, sees who is in each bunk and how to get on the bus: the coach's name, door code, door notes and Wi-Fi. The link is always current, so a changed door code or a moved bunk shows up on the link already sent. It lasts 30 days, and sharing again keeps the same link and adds 30 more. Turn off ends it for good (sharing afterwards makes a new link). It is for one bus only. Because it puts the door code and Wi-Fi in front of anyone who has the link, send it only to the people riding that bus.
SNAPSHOT:
Next to Share chart, Snapshot turns the bus into one picture and sends it in one tap, the same way the Travel and Hotel snapshots work: on a phone it opens the share sheet (Messages, WhatsApp, AirDrop), on a computer the picture is copied so you can paste it into a text, email or Slack. The picture shows the coach, the bay laid out by side with who is in each bunk, held bunks, anyone without a bunk, and the driver, door code, door notes and Wi-Fi when you are allowed to see them. Anyone who can open Bunk Alley can make one. Unlike the Share chart link, a snapshot is frozen at the moment you take it, so send a new one after you move people.
PRINT CHART:
"Print chart" in the header produces the paper bunk chart for the bus door. Laid out as a plan view of the bay, every bus on one sheet. On a phone it opens as its own full screen (Bunk chart) instead of a print window, because phones block those. In the ATOM phone app, Print on that screen makes a PDF of the chart and opens the share menu, where you can Print (AirPrint), Save to Files or send it.
