Buyouts

Where buyouts live (Money > Cash > Buyouts), logging one, cash kept

WHERE: Money > Cash, then the Buyouts button (next to + Cash In / + Cash Out). Buyouts are cash, so they live with cash. The Buyouts page lists every buyout on the leg picked at the top of Money, newest month first, with a search box (city, venue, type) and All / Last 30d / Last 90d / YTD / Custom. + Log buyout opens its own page: pick Meal, Hospitality or Complete, the amount, Venue provided or Road float, who it covers, which show, then Calculate Buyout and Save (the Buyout Wizard walks the meal case step by step on the same page). The Quick Buyout Checklist card on top is the walk-around list for handing out cash. Money Home's "Quick buyout" opens it too. A day's buyouts also show on that day's Day Dashboard.

WHO: anyone who can open the Cash tab. No Cash tab? Your role on this tour doesn't include cash: ask your TM. A management or agency firm account has no road cash of its own; buyouts live on the artist's tour login.

Buyouts are a flat fee paid in lieu of a rider item: most commonly catering, hospitality, or the complete rider.

When the venue/promoter can't (or won't) provide what's on the rider, they buy you out of it with cash. The artist team then handles that meal / hospitality / item themselves.

Money flows: Venue → Tour Manager → Crew

Types: Meal Buyout (per-person allowance instead of catered meal), Hospitality Buyout (cash instead of the dressing-room rider. Towels, drinks, snacks), Complete Buyout (entire rider exchanged for cash).

Buyouts are tracked for road reports but don't feed into budget math. They're pass-through cash.

CASH: a buyout record doesn't move road cash by itself. Buyouts aren't always a wash: the venue's cash can be more than you hand out, and you may keep some (after-show food, contingency) or cover the rest on the tour card. So on each venue buyout on the Buyouts page, tap Add cash I kept: it fills in what the form says you kept, you change it to what really stayed in the bag, and it lands on the Cash tab as a Cash In ("Kept from buyout"). The row then shows "Kept $X, on the Cash tab". Already logging leftovers by hand ("Leftover Hospitality")? Keep doing it; nothing is counted twice. A road-float buyout comes out of road cash as its own cash expense.

QUICK BUYOUT (cash in hand, walk around): moved to Money > Cash > Buyouts, the card at the top of that page. "+ Start buyout" makes a checklist of your roster at one amount each (meal, lunch, tips, a day's per diem...). Tap each person as you hand them cash; it saves itself on every tap, on your phone and the cloud, so you can close it and finish on your laptop. A half-done one shows "Buyout in progress" with "Continue". Gave a lump sum to someone to hand out? Add it under Handed off to distribute (who, how much, a note); it prints and counts in the totals. It's a record: nothing reaches Cash Flow or Budget unless you press "Send N to budget", which only sends people and hand-offs not sent yet (a buyout is often a wash).
