Cross-collateral packages settle a promoter run as a pool. When one promoter holds consecutive dates (a multi-night engagement, a casino buy, a festival routing), the deal memo often says the shows are cross-collateralized: a losing night's shortfall is netted against a winning night's overage BEFORE the artist's backend is calculated, instead of every show settling on its own.
BUILD ONE: Money > Settlements > "Cross-collateral package". Pick 2 or more shows from the run (any deal types, they mix in real packages), then set the structure straight off the deal memo:
THE THREE STRUCTURES: "Guarantee + % over breakeven" (the common Live Nation and C3 shape: aggregate guarantee, plus the artist % of pooled box office over pooled expenses plus guarantee). "Guarantee vs % of pool" (greater of the aggregate guarantee or the % of the pooled base). "Guarantee + % after promoter profit" (the split point also reserves the promoter's profit margin on expenses).
LUMP SUM: if the memo states ONE guarantee figure for the whole run and never allocates per show, tick "Lump-sum guarantee" and enter it. Otherwise the shows' own guarantees are summed.
READ THE PREVIEW HONESTLY: the preview shows each show settling alone, then the pooled walk: split point, package total, deposits credited once, balance due. Pooling usually favours the promoter, but not always: a lump-sum buy can genuinely pay MORE than settling alone, and the preview says so in plain words either way.
WHAT IT NEVER DOES: a package never changes a show's own settlement, and merch is never pooled (merch settles per night at each night's own rate). The package is a separate view; delete it and nothing else moves.
