Day Detail

Per-day schedule, hotel, lineup, notes (admin Edit toggle)

Day Detail is the single canonical surface for everything that happens on a given show day: schedule, hotel, lineup, notes, travel notes, deal info, amenities, bus parking, hotel logistics. Crew + admin both look at the same page; admin sees an Edit toggle.

WHERE IT LIVES:

Tour Book → click any date on the Calendar. Or hit the "Today" pill from anywhere in Tour Book. Direct URL: /tourbook/day/2026-MM-DD.

THE OVERVIEW TAB: the venue and hotel cubes on top, each with a photo of the place on a computer or the Mac app (the same photo as the Venue and Hotel tabs, on the right of the cube; a phone shows no photos, just the town's skyline on the venue cube, so the day starts higher; change or hide a venue photo on the Venue tab; a typed venue name with no city or address gets no photo, and neither does a day label in the venue box like "Travel Day - Salina, KS", so Google can't guess a wrong place. On a travel day or day off on the road with no real venue (not Home or Blocked days), there is no Venue tab (nothing venue-only to fill in), and the cube and the phone's Day at a glance show the ATOM Skyline instead: a skyline ATOM draws for that town in ATOM's colors, with the town and state painted on a water tower and a few lights that twinkle. Every town gets one, the same town always looks the same, and nothing is searched online. A venue with no photo shows its town's skyline too), then a briefing: Today's schedule on the left (the whole day; edit a title, note or time right in it), and beside it a one-line Local time (with your home time and any overnight time-zone change), Day notes, Venue & hotel info (billing, venue type, age, Wi-Fi with password, laundry, showers, towels, dressing rooms, merch split, meals, runner, hotel conf #, CC auth, check-in, travel notes), People (the venue's contacts as a phone book, the same one as the Venue tab: one closed line per venue saying how many contacts it holds, tap it to open the list A to Z with call, text and email buttons; contacts saved under another company, like the promoter, get their own book; plus Who's on today with Set), Weather & what to wear, and the map. The cards fit together like Tetris: each one drops into whichever column is shortest, so a short schedule never leaves a hole under it. A laptop gets two columns, a wide screen three; on a phone everything stacks: schedule, local time, day notes, people, venue & hotel info, weather, map. To add or edit contacts, use the Venue tab (Local Contacts). Tonight's City sits below as the town's skyline banner; tap it to open. Each card's View opens the tab where you edit it. Travel days lead with flights instead.

DAY TYPE: the colored chip at the top right of the day (Show, Festival, Travel, Off, Rehearsal, Studio, Hotel, Blocked). Anyone who can edit the day taps it to change the type, or Untag day to clear it. Studio (green) is for a recording or studio day: the calendar, rail and day cubes say Studio Day, the calendar link and download include it with Rehearsals ("Studio @ the studio's name"), and when Crew Pay fills in from Who's On a studio day comes in as Work. It isn't counted as a paid road day on its own, the same as Writing. Several dates at once: Calendar, Select dates, Set day type.

CREW VIEW (default):

Clean, read-only. Schedule chips down the left, hotel summary on the right, lineup card if there are openers, travel notes if relevant. Mobile-first: designed to be glanceable on stage during load-in.

ADMIN EDIT (you):

Tap Edit in the page header. Every section becomes editable inline:

The Edit toggle persists across reloads via localStorage so you don't have to re-toggle every time you navigate.

HOW SAVES FLOW:

Every field change writes to the tour leg in Supabase via TourContext. The crew-facing read of the same day is identical the moment you save: same record, same surface, no duplication.

WHY ONE SURFACE:

Master Tour's biggest pain point: admin lives on desktop, mobile lives on phone, and the two drift. ATOM's rule is one surface = one truth. The same Day Detail page is what your FOH sees when they pull it up at 3pm AND what you edit at 9am. Same data, same layout, just an Edit toggle that flips inline editors on.

RELATED:

EDITING THE SCHEDULE: on a computer, click a line to edit it right in the list; + Add row puts a new line at the bottom. While you're typing, the line stays where it is, even after you type its start time. When you finish (click away, press Escape, or Save), it slides into its time slot and the list scrolls to it with a quick blue flash. On a phone, tapping a line or + Add row opens that line on its own full screen: big Starts / Ends boxes with a Next day switch for times past midnight, What, How sure is the time (Exact, Approximate, Pending, TBD), Note, Link, Who sees this, Info only and Dim. Done goes back to the list with the line in its time slot, Add another starts the next line, Delete removes it (with Undo). Either way, the day's Save bar saves the changes.

VIP LINES: when a VIP deal in Money adds its steps to the day (check-in, VIP entry, VIP set, early merch), they are ordinary schedule lines with a small gold VIP tag in the Schedule editor. You can edit them, but applying the VIP deal again in Money replaces them; each line keeps its Who sees this setting and Dim. They get their own gold countdown chip (for example VIP CHECK-IN 15M), so a "VIP set" never shows up as the band's set. They print like any line, and Who sees this works on them.

DIM A LINE: for a line that should be on the schedule but is minor (catering open, a merch restock, a soft hold), tap dim on it in the Schedule editor (or Dim in the Day Sheet builder). It stays on the schedule, the printed sheet, the live day card and the snapshot picture, but reads gray everywhere, so the real calls stand out. Dimmed lines never count for the countdown chips, NOW / NEXT, the Stage Clock, your next call, or schedule overlap warnings. Tap it again to make it a normal line. It works alongside Who sees this and VIP lines.

TWO DOORS LINES: When a day has two doors lines (say "Doors" and "Doors Open Music"), every countdown, the Stage Clock and the VIP card all use the same one: the last main doors line of the day. On a festival day, Gates Open counts as doors. The artist's set is a line named for the artist ("Artist Name"), never a runner, press, hotel, warm-up or soundcheck line that happens to have their name in it.
