The Travel tab (day page)

The day's travel: a summary of the day's moves, then one card per bus run or flight with big depart and arrive times

The Travel tab on a day page shows every move that day, a bus or van run or a flight, with the times in big type.

WHERE IT LIVES:

Day page, Travel tab.

TOP TO BOTTOM:

SHARING A SNAPSHOT:

Every card has a Share button, and the summary has Share day. One tap makes an ATOM picture of that run, flight or whole day (route, big times with their time zones, who's on it, driver, stops, notes and confirmation numbers; never frequent flier or Known Traveler numbers). On a phone it opens your share sheet (Messages, WhatsApp, Mail, AirDrop) with a plain-text copy riding along. On a laptop it copies the picture so you can paste it into a text, email or Slack (if the browser won't allow copying, it saves to your downloads). Anyone who can see the Travel tab can share it. A flight on a snapshot (this picture and the day page's Day snapshot) shows everyone on that flight, the confirmation number (or who has which), every leg with its departure and landing times, and the layover.

OPENING AND EDITING:

Tap a card to open that run or flight on its own screen (not a pop-up), where Edit and Delete live. Click a bus run's destination name to rename it right there. + Flight and + Ground open travel entry with the date already set. Ground opens a workspace that uses the whole screen. The day's runs sit in a sheet across the top (click a row to work on that run). Down the left are six steps, Route, Call time, Vehicle and crew, Stops, Notes and who sees it and Review and save; each shows a check and a one-line summary, and any step is one click away. On the right, the run sheet shows everything entered so far, the way the crew will read it, with the save box under it. In Call time, type the time and pick the day it leaves (this day, after midnight, or later); the arrival works itself out from the drive time unless you set it by hand (a hand-set arrival has a gold ring, and Work it out again puts it back). Nothing assumes a tour bus: pick the vehicle (van, Sprinter, Bandwagon, car service and more); a new run starts on the one your tour uses most. In Route you can also mark the run as Leaving home for the run or Heading home. A new run saves on its own once both ends are in; after that it saves a moment after each change, and the save box always says where it stands. Save and add the next leg starts the next run from where this one ends, and Close and Cmd+S save first. On a phone the same steps stack, with Save pinned at the bottom. For anything bigger than a car (tour bus, van, Sprinter, Bandwagon, trailer), Vehicle and crew takes the vehicle's size: height (measure to the highest point), length, width, weight and whether it tows a trailer. Once both ends are picked from the list and a height is in, ATOM checks the route for that vehicle with HERE's map data, and the run sheet's Clearance line says whether any low bridge or weight limit is on the way. A limit missing from the map can't be checked, so the driver still reads the posted signs. A run with a broken limit shows Low clearance on route on the Travel Board. Sources (on the Route step and the run sheet) shows where every number on the run came from: this run's miles and drive time (Google Maps with traffic, an OpenStreetMap estimate, HERE as this vehicle, or typed by hand), when HERE last checked it, and what each service powers. Travel notes are edited with the day's Edit button.

WHO SEES WHAT:

Everyone on the tour sees the Travel tab. Anyone can tap a card to open the run or flight screen and read it. Only people allowed to manage travel (tour managers and admins) see + Flight and + Ground, rename a destination, or get Edit and Delete on those screens. Everyone else sees them read only: no editing, no adding or removing travelers, and no one else's frequent flier or Known Traveler numbers. To change travel, ask your TM.
