Dropbox receipts folder (Money > Import, under the drop zones): for people who save receipts from email into a Dropbox folder.
SET IT UP: tap Connect Dropbox, sign in on Dropbox's own page and allow ATOM to read your files (read only: ATOM never changes or deletes anything). You come back to Import. Tap Pick folder, open the folder you file this tour's receipts in, and tap Use this folder. Each tour has its own folder.
BRING THEM IN: choose how far back to look (last 7, 30 or 90 days, or everything in the folder) and tap Check for new receipts. ATOM lists the new ones and tells you how many are already on the books (those are skipped before anything is read, so a folder of receipts you already filed costs nothing). Tap Import: they go through the same receipt import as dragging them in. ATOM reads each one, uses the folder names as hints (a LODGING folder files as Lodging, a hotel's folder name as the vendor), skips a folio that charged nothing, and never adds the same receipt twice. A receipt for a charge already on the books (the same cents within 3 days, like a card-statement line) is attached to that charge instead of becoming a second expense; if that charge already has a receipt, the file is not added and the Import Log names the expense it matched (drag it in by hand if it really is a separate charge, like a second room at the same rate). NOT RECEIPTS: ATOM never reads ID or card documents (a file or folder named like CC Auth, card and ID, passport, driver's license, W-9 or 1099). Banking documents are never read either. Show paperwork (settlements, checks, ticket audits, withholding, wires, contracts, logos, per diem sign sheets, quotes) is skipped too: import that on the show's Settlement tab. So is anything in a folder named Archive, To delete or Trash. The same file saved in two folders comes in once. Each skipped group is listed under the count so you can see what was left out. Best: pick the folder that holds only receipts. Up to 100 at a time; check again for the rest. A file over 4 MB is too big to bring in from Dropbox: drag it in from your computer.
EVERY MORNING (optional): tick Check this folder every morning on the Dropbox card. Each morning ATOM looks at the names of files that landed in the folder overnight (it doesn't open them) and, when there are new receipts, sends you one notification and shows a banner on the card. Tap it and the card checks; nothing comes into Money until you tap Import, so the duplicate checks still run. Off until you turn it on; untick it any time.
AFTER: files you imported are remembered and not offered again. Change folder or Disconnect any time. The Test Drive demo can't connect Dropbox.
