WHEN IT CHECKS ON ITS OWN: when you open a day within a day of today, and after that every 5 minutes while the flight is close (from 6 hours before departure until an hour after it lands). It stops while the screen is hidden or nobody has touched it for 15 minutes, so a day page left open overnight doesn't keep checking.
CHECK NOW: anyone can tap Check now on any flight, including one weeks away. Everyone on the tour shares the same answer, so for 3 minutes after anyone checks, the button rests on Just checked instead of asking again.
"BUSY RIGHT NOW": if the flight data service is overloaded, ATOM waits a minute and keeps showing the last answer with its as-of time.
