Names without middle names

Why ATOM shows people as first and last name, and where the full legal name still lives

Names read first and last. Across ATOM a person shows as first name and last name, no middle names: day sheets, snapshots, travel cards, hotel rooming, the roster, per diem, catering, pickers and tiles. "Karl Andrew Smakula" reads "Karl Smakula". Last names with more than one part stay whole ("Maria de la Cruz"), and so do endings like Jr or Sr.

NOTHING IS DELETED. This only changes how a name is shown. The full legal name stays saved exactly as typed on the person's contact card, and so do the names on flight bookings and hotel reservations.

WHERE YOU STILL SEE THE FULL NAME:

CHOOSE HOW A NAME SHOWS: Open the person's contact card. Under Full legal name there are two boxes, First name and Last name (shown in ATOM). Leave them blank and ATOM uses the first and last word of the legal name. Fill them to choose: want a middle name to show, type it into First name ("Karl Andrew"). The Last name box always shows the surname only. The line under the boxes says exactly how the name will read.

A NAME LOOKS WRONG? Fix it on the contact card. Every screen picks it up.
