Crew Pay (Money > Crew Pay; it used to be called Payroll, and the address is still /money/payroll) works out what each person on the tour is owed. It does not withhold taxes or pay anyone: your payroll company or business manager does that, from ATOM's numbers.
Pay Ledger (Money > Crew Pay) opens on the Register: a pay-run strip (pay period, crew, gross crew pay, per diem on the check, check total) and one row per person: role, rate, days, shows, per diem, total, status. A missing or odd rate shows Check rate with a gold edge. Switch to Day grid to mark days: a grid of each crew member against each day, and each cell is what that person earns that day.
WHERE THE RATE COMES FROM: the person's Pay settings (their Rate and its Basis, plus any show day, travel day or off day rate).
CATCHING A WRONG RATE WHERE YOU TYPE IT:
On a person's card (Pay section) and on the Tour Roster's pay tab, a warning appears under the rate when it doesn't fit its basis: a salary-sized number set as a per-day or per-show rate, or a tiny number set as a yearly salary. Fix the basis or the number and it goes away. When the basis is annual (salaried), the card's box is labeled Yearly salary, and that is the number Crew Pay pays from.
HOW A DAY IS WORKED OUT:
- Per day: the Rate is the day's pay.
- Per show: the Rate is paid for a show.
- Annual (salaried): paid the yearly salary divided by 365 for every day of the pay period, whether or not a day is marked, shows or no shows. Marking a Show day on a salaried person only counts the show; it never changes their pay. Their row says "Salary, paid every day". It reads the Annual salary box, or the Rate box if the salary was typed there. A period finalized before 2026-09-25 keeps the total it was finalized with.
- Per week: a day is the weekly Rate divided by 7.
- A show day, travel day or off day rate you set yourself is always used as entered (not for salaried people, who are paid the same every day). Where to set them: open the person's card (Tour Roster or Contacts), Compensation tab: Rate and Basis (per show, say $600), then Travel day rate ($300) and Off day rate. Travel left blank pays the Rate; off day left blank means a day off at home is unpaid. A 0 saved on the Tour Roster pay tab never wipes out a rate typed on the card.
- For everyone not salaried, a day off on the road pays like a travel day; only a day off at home is unpaid.
DRAG TO FILL: grab a day that is already set and drag it across days, or down and across people: every day and person the drag covers gets that type (only inside each person's tour dates). The Work grid view works like a spreadsheet too.
FROM THE DAY ROSTER (WHO'S ON): when a day has a roster on its Day page (the Who's On tab), Crew Pay uses it. A new pay period fills itself once: everyone on a day's roster gets that day's type (Show on a show day, else the itinerary's Travel or Off), only inside their tour dates, and only in cells that are blank; anything you set yourself is never touched. A day at home fills as Off with per diem off (no per diem at home); tap the PD chip to turn it on if you really pay it. The note above the grid says how many were filled, with Undo, and names anyone on the roster who isn't on crew pay yet. On a period you already saved, tap Fill blanks from the day roster. Nothing is saved until you press Save.
PER DIEM ALREADY PAID BY A RUN: if a day this period counts per diem for is already paid by a signed or posted Per Diem run, a gold note above the grid says who and which days, with Turn per diem off on those days (or, when per diem rides on the check ahead, move that window). It never blocks; it stops the same day being paid, and shown in Budget, twice.
THE CHECK (PAY DATE AND PER DIEM AHEAD): above the grid, set the Pay date the check is cut. The check pays the period's own days after they happen. If your checks also carry per diem for the weeks AHEAD, tick Per diem paid ahead on this check: it fills the 14 days after the period (change the dates if yours differ), and each person on the check shows "+ PD" (those days x their own per diem rate from their Pay tab, else the tour's per diem rate) and their check total. With it on, per diem follows that window instead of the marked days, the per-day PD switches hide, and Budget and the Per Diem overlap check use the same window. Saved with the period.
WHAT THE DAY WAS vs WHETHER IT'S PAID: these are two separate things. The cell says what the day was: Show, Travel, Off, TV, Rehearsal, Tech, Radio, Promo, Work or Other.
WHAT EACH DAY TYPE PAYS (per tour, since 2026-09-26): tap Day types on Crew Pay. Show, Travel and Off pay each person's own rates from their card. Every other type (TV, Rehearsal, Tech, Radio, Promo, Work, Other) pays what you pick for this tour: Day rate (the default), Half day rate, Travel day rate, Unpaid, or a Flat amount for everyone. It saves for the whole tour and Budget uses it too. Per person: anyone can be paid differently. Their card's Compensation tab (from Contacts or the Tour Roster) has their own Rate, Show day, Travel day and Off day rates, and Other day types, where each type is "Tour setting" or their own choice, and every choice shows what it pays that person (e.g. "Tour setting: Half day rate ($300)") (Frank full day on Promo while Tom follows the tour's half day). TV keeps the union bump on day, half or travel, and is still billed back to the label. A finalized period keeps the pay it was finalized with; a change only affects periods still open. Only the account owner can change these. The small $ switch on a marked cell says whether it's paid; tap it to make that day unpaid (struck through, $0, no label billback) and tap again to pay it. A typed amount always wins. Salaried people are paid every day of the period either way.
SHOW COUNT: each person's Total shows how many shows they worked this period, and the period's count is at the top. A show counts only when the schedule has a show that date AND the person was on it: on that day's roster (Who's On) or marked Show/TV. Pay never counts a show: a salaried person paid on a day off, or a Show day marked Show on a date with no show on the schedule, adds nothing. An unpaid Show day still counts the show.
WHICH LEG: Crew Pay opens on the leg picked in the header and moves when you switch it there.
WHO CAN SEE IT: anyone whose role on this tour includes crew pay. If there's no Crew Pay tab, your role doesn't include it; ask your TM. A management or agency firm login has no tour of its own, so crew pay lives on the artist's tour.
NAMES: per diem, crew pay, buyout and cash request screens and the printed sign sheet show first + last name only. Saved runs and pay records keeps each person's full legal name, so signatures still match.
CREW PAY TAB: a crew member with no rate set on the Crew Pay tab now shows the pay from their contact card or tour roster (the same pay the Pay Ledger and Budget use), so the tab and its Excel file no longer read $0 for them. A yearly salary shows as its weekly rate. A rate set on the Crew Pay tab still wins.
