Add a Run puts a whole run of dates on the books at once. One date at a time is what Add a Date is for; this is for the routing in your hand.
WHERE IT LIVES: Tour Book > Calendar > Add Run, next to Add Date (tour admins). The new-artist start (I'll type my dates in) opens it too.
HOW IT WORKS:
1. Pick the tour (or start a new one and name it).
2. Pick the days on the calendar. Tap days puts one day in or takes it out; First to last fills every day between two taps. Gaps are fine (Thursday to Saturday, two festival weekends). Days that already have a show are shaded and can't be picked.
3. Every picked day lists with a type box. Nothing is assumed: a day is a show only when you pick Show (or Festival). Set all to types every open day in one tap (Show, Travel, Day Off, Rehearsal, or More for the rest), then change single days.
4. Show and festival days get a venue box. Type the venue and pick the Google match (Enter takes the top one); the address, city, state, country and map point come with it, and Tab jumps to the next show day's venue. Capacity is optional.
5. Same venue every show day (shown when there are 2 or more show days): type the venue once on the first show day and it goes on all of them, with its address. Made for a residency or a multi-day event.
6. + Event name under a show day: for an event with its own name at a venue, like Not Alone Summit + Awards at The Wynn, or a festival at a fairground. The event name leads the day (calendar, day page, day sheet) and the venue stays the place. With Same venue on, the first day's event name goes on every show day too.
7. Save. The footer counts what's going in.
IN A HURRY (finish later): you don't have to type every day. Days left without a type aren't saved; label them later from the calendar or with Add a Date. Starting a new tour, you can save with nothing typed at all: Create tour, finish later makes the tour with those dates and takes you in.
THE RULES IT FOLLOWS:
- A show day is only ever a day someone picked as Show or Festival.
- A date that already has a show (in any tour) is never changed or duplicated. Use the day page for that.
- A run's dates go into the tour that covers them, and a run that would stretch a tour into another year is called out before saving.
- Venue search leans to the country the run routes through.
AFTER THE SAVE: the days land on the Calendar like any other date: Money picks up the shows for settlements, Advance sees them. When a run adds 2 or more shows, the success screen offers Generate Bus Routing (Money's Routing Sheet builds the night drives with Google mileage and drive times).
