Set List Studio

Build a show's set, design the sheet, export it: Build / Design / Output

Set List Studio is where a show's set list gets built, designed and exported. Open it from a show day: Tour Book → the date → Set List tab → Open Set List Studio.

THE LAYOUT:

The sheet preview sits on the right the whole time and never shrinks. Above it is the Artist / Tech switch. The left side changes with the three tabs at the top: Build, Design, Output. Done closes the Studio and hands your changes to the day; the day's Save bar saves them. On a phone the preview is its own tab, Sheet, and Artist / Tech sits in the top bar.

ARTIST vs TECH:

• Artist is the big poster the band reads on stage. Songs are all one size, sized to fill the page.
• Tech is the crew sheet: a # column, a SONG column (40% of the width), and a NOTES column with more than half the width left blank for the crew's Sharpie. Your song tags (trio, drop D, who plays) print in a small line under each song title, never in NOTES. Rows always stretch to fill the page, and every song is one size, as big as fits so the longest title stays on one line (a very long title wraps instead of shrinking the rest). A Space shows as a clear break in the table. Each song can also show its key and BPM; switching to Tech adds Key and BPM boxes to each song in Build.

BUILD (the default):

Add a Song, Header (ENCORE), Sub-header (ONE MIC), Note line, or Space (a gap between set configurations). Paste list turns a pasted list into rows: numbering is stripped, a trailing (parenthetical) becomes the tag, ALL-CAPS lines become headers. Copy a day pulls another show's whole set into this one (it replaces what's here; the venue and date stay today's). Drag the grip to reorder. Press Enter in a row to start the next song. Each song has a tag (trio, drop D) and a length; lengths add up to the run-time.

The Library is your saved songs across every show. It opens beside the list from the Library button, so the set stays in view. Tap a song to add it to the end, or drag it to a spot in the set. The bookmark button on each song row (it says Library on a computer) saves that song to your Library; once saved it shows a bookmark with a check (Saved). It does not add or remove the song from tonight's set (the trash can does that).

The bar at the bottom shows the song count, the run-time (a + means some songs have no length yet), the Set length tag, and "fits 1 page". Tag the set as 30, 60, 75 or 90 minutes, or tap Custom and type any number of minutes; tap a selected length again to clear it. If your song lengths add up to more than the set length it says "over by" how much. The set length is saved with the show and shows on the Set List Log (searchable, e.g. "90"); it doesn't print on the sheet. Every set list prints on one page, so a very long set rides smaller type; you'll see "long set, type is small" when that happens.

DESIGN:

• Look: Light or Dark paper, the font (remembered on this device), Text size (Artist only: Auto fits the page, minus shrinks, plus grows until the songs fill the page), and a header logo.
• Footer and billing: "With" (support act), "Supporting" (headliner), the Footer line (blank = venue, city, date automatically) and a Footer note.
• Side labels (Artist only): the city down the left edge and the state down the right, so the sheet still says where you are when the bottom is taped over. You can type your own text for either side.
• Tech sheet columns (Tech only): pick what prints for each song: Numbers, Key, BPM, Length, Tag. Length is off by default. Tags print under the song title; the NOTES column always stays blank for the crew's handwriting. Saved with that show's set, and Copy a day carries it.
• Note boxes: Add box drops a box you can drag anywhere on the sheet (support act, a guest, a reminder). Tap a box on the sheet, or its name in Design, to edit it: label, text, alignment, width, text size, snap to a corner or side, border or plain. Its settings only show while that box is selected.

OUTPUT:

Export PDF (printable) or Save image (a picture for a group text or Photos) of whichever sheet the preview shows. On a phone these open the share sheet. Output also links to the Set List Log (every show's set across the tour). If the day has unsaved changes, ATOM asks you to Save, Discard or Cancel before it leaves the day.

TWO SHOWS ON ONE DAY:

When a date has two shows (an early set and the main show), each show keeps its own set list. Pick the show at the top of the day page, then open the Studio: what you build is saved to that show only. Copy a day lists the other show on the same date too, and the Set List Log shows both, each with its own venue and PDFs.

WHO CAN USE IT:

The Studio opens for people who can edit the day. Everyone else sees the set as a read-only list on the day's Set List tab (once it has songs), with a link to the Set List Log. Set lists only show on show and festival days, and not for the driver role. If your role can't open the Studio, ask your Tour Manager.
