Tech Packs: when a venue or promoter emails you their tech pack, drop it into ATOM and it lands where you need it.
WHERE IT LIVES:
The show's Advance screen (Tour > Advance > the show, or the Advance tab on the day), in the From the venue tile: the Received a tech pack? card. The same card is on the show's advance link window in Production → Advance. Production → Advance → Tech Pack Intake and a venue page's Check a New Advance use the same reader, but they save the pack to that venue's shared ATOM record, not to one show day. To get a pack onto a day, use the card on that show's Advance screen. The Import a tech pack button on Production → Advance asks which show and takes you there.
ONE PACK, KNOWN EVERYWHERE: ATOM fingerprints every pack it files. Upload a pack this show already has and it says so instead of filing it twice. Upload one another show already has and it offers Add the same pack here (no second upload, and the reading comes with it). Filed packs say also on Oct 9 when another show has the same file. Tech Pack Intake offers File on <date> for that venue's upcoming shows. Filing a pack works with ATOM Intelligence off; only reading it needs Intelligence on. ATOM reads up to 60 tech packs per account per day; past that the pack is still filed on the show and can be read the next day. A PDF pack uploaded on a show also goes into the shared ATOM Venues library for that venue (skipped if the library already has it), the same as packs from the venue's link and email.
PACKS THAT ARRIVE ON THEIR OWN:
- A venue uploading through its advance link: the PDF is filed on that show, tagged from the venue.
- Scan my email finding a tech pack: you pick the show and it's filed there, tagged from email.
Neither goes onto the day or into ATOM Venues by itself. Press Review on the pack, tick the lines, and Import to the day.
HOW IT WORKS:
1. Upload the PDF (or a photo of a page). ATOM files it to the show straight away, even if you never import a line.
2. ATOM reads it: schedule times, venue contacts, Wi-Fi, parking and shore power, dressing rooms, hospitality, curfew, and the house production specs. Scanned, image-only PDFs work too. A long pack can take a minute.
3. Every line shows with a checkbox, all on. Untick anything you don't want.
4. Tap Import to the day. One click does the whole job: the answers go into your advance checklist AND onto the day.
WHERE EACH THING LANDS:
- Contacts go on the day's Local contacts card with the venue's own titles (Production Manager, Head of Security...).
- Times go on the day's schedule.
- Wi-Fi goes on the day's Cell + Wi-Fi card: the main network and password in the password slot, any other networks (green room, bus lot) in the card's notes. It only fills what's empty there, and leaves the signal-quality rating to the crew. The full list is also kept in the day's Notes.
- Parking and arrival (bus lot, guest parking, shore power, gate codes, entrance, low clearances) go into the Notes box on the day's Travel tab, under "TECH PACK, Parking + arrival". That box prints on the day sheet as Arrival + parking.
- Dressing rooms go on the Venue tab's Dressing rooms card. Laundry, showers and towels tick the Amenities card (the details, like "1 washer/dryer backstage", stay in the day's Notes). Capacity fills Show Info. Wi-Fi networks also go on the Venue tab's Wi-Fi list.
- Shore power and water fill the Venue tab's Venue Hookups card (available, the connection, where it is), and stay in the Travel tab notes for the driver.
- Access and other house notes go into the day's Notes, in labelled blocks (for example "TECH PACK, House notes").
- A line that doesn't match any advance checklist question still goes onto the day, so nothing you ticked is lost.
- House production specs (stage size, power, PA, consoles, rigging) go to the show's Production Sheet, not the day. Band and crew don't need them on the day sheet.
- The hotel from the checklist is set on the day only if the day has no hotel yet.
- The PDF itself also shows on the day's Files tab, tagged "From tech pack".
THE RULES:
- Your existing info always wins. Nothing you already typed on the day or in the checklist is overwritten. A time that clashes with one already on the day keeps yours.
- It's safe to import the same pack twice: anything already there is skipped, not duplicated.
- The import also carries the rest of that date's advance checklist answers onto the day, the same as the checklist's own Fill the day button.
MISSED A LINE?
Every filed pack has a Review button. It reopens the same pick list instantly, so you can import anything you skipped the first time. File only keeps the PDF on the show without importing anything.
WHO CAN USE IT:
Reading tech packs is part of ATOM Intelligence (Smart Capture). If that's switched off, the upload button is hidden, but packs already filed stay listed and openable. In read-only mode (for example, viewing as someone else) you can open packs but not import.
