Change venue is for a show that is MOVING to a different venue on the same date (a room change for ticket sales, a weather move, a venue that fell through). It is not a rename: fixing a typo in the venue name is still a click on the name.
WHERE IT LIVES:
Day page, tap Edit, then Change venue next to the venue name (show and festival days, admins only).
HOW IT WORKS:
1. Search the new venue and pick Google's match.
2. ATOM lists everything tied to the old venue BEFORE anything changes:
- Venue swaps: name, address, map pin, phone. The old venue's venue type, capacity, age limit, Wi-Fi and amenities are cleared.
- Schedule items keep their times but are all marked unconfirmed so you re-advance them.
- Ground trips to or from the old venue are removed: the drive in (even when it is filed the day before, like an overnight bus), trips that day, and the next morning's departure. Other trips (hotel, airport) stay.
- Day contacts, venue notes and the tech pack filed to the show move to a Previous venue record on the day.
- The Ticketmaster link is cleared (it pointed to the old event).
- Hotel and airport distances recalculate for the new address.
3. Tap Move show to (new venue).
NEVER CHANGED:
The deal, deal memo, guarantee and settlement. They are flagged instead.
AFTER THE MOVE:
A banner on the day lists what to re-check: deal, settlement (capacity, fees, merch split), tickets, parking map, power and water hookups, and advancing the new venue. Tick each off as you go. Show what came off (old venue) shows the old address, capacity, phone, contacts, tech pack and removed trips. Undo move puts all of it back. If a trip to the old venue is still on the books, the banner offers to remove it.
RATHER START OVER?
The Change venue screen links to Delete a day if you want to wipe the date completely instead of moving the show.
WHO CAN DO IT:
Anyone who can edit the day (TM / admin). Crew see the banner but can't tick items or undo.
