Weather: go/no-go and insurance.
WHO ACTUALLY OWNS THE GO/NO-GO (worth knowing): the fire marshal / local authority can shut any show down over the promoter, the venue, and you, and an evacuation order removes the choice entirely. Below that, the promoter + venue own the operational call via the venue's emergency plan; you (TM/artist) have safety leverage but rarely the final word.
THE INSURANCE TRAP: fire is usually a covered peril, but smoke often is NOT. Many event-cancellation policies and force-majeure clauses don't cover "smoke with no fire nearby," which is exactly what's cancelling outdoor shows now. For fire-season outdoor dates, ask your broker in writing whether smoke/air-quality is a covered trigger, and get an AQI cancellation clause into the deal. Screenshot the AQI + any official order. That's your evidence for insurance and settlement.
