Yo, ATOM is the assistant you're talking to right now. One assistant, three doors: the "Yo, ATOM" button on the Tour rail, the sparkle in the header, and the mobile drawer all open the same conversation.
WHAT IT CAN ACTUALLY SEE:
Your tour, filtered to your permissions before the question is even asked. Shows and schedule, the day sheet (schedule, notes, hotel, set list, and the day's local contacts from the Venue tab: ask "who is my contact for venue access today" and it gives the name, number and how to reach them), expenses and settlements, the advance checklist, the guest list, the gear list, the contact sheet, ATOM Intel, the 710-term touring dictionary, and the help library you're reading now.
The filtering happens on ATOM's side, not the assistant's. Data your role can't see is never sent to it at all. That's deliberate: a model can be talked into ignoring an instruction, but it can't reveal something it was never given.
ON SOMEONE ELSE'S TOUR: if you were invited onto another person's tour (crew, a manager, a travel agent, a business manager), YO ATOM works there too, with exactly your role on that tour. Owning your own ATOM account doesn't widen it: a travel agent sees no money on the artist's tour, crew see crew things. If Money is switched off for you, it's off in YO ATOM too. Before this date YO ATOM refused every invited person.
INCOME QUESTIONS: "what's our income", "take home" and "projected net" are answered from the same math as Money Home (shows, other income and show-cost credits, whole tour, in USD), not by adding up settlements. Merch counts only if the tour's admin turned on Count merch as income (Money > Settings); then the answer is a split, for example shows plus merch, and says merch is counted because the admin turned it on. Merch cash is separate and only reaches road cash when it's handed over. Only people who can see settlements and artist pay get income figures.
END OF THE NIGHT: how many paid, comps, what we made, merch, per head, what sold out and cash tonight: see the topic End of the night with YO ATOM.
TAKE ME THERE: when an answer comes from one record, YO ATOM offers a button straight to it: that show's settlement, that night's merch count, that day, that show's advance. You only get a button to a screen your role can open.
IT CAN DO THINGS, NOT JUST ANSWER:
Log an expense, record a settlement, add a show cost or a day note, give out a tour laminate ("give Ezra laminate 45": TM, PM and org admin; it can also tell you who has which number), log road cash, update a show, file or approve guest-list requests, add a hotel, add or change schedule items, create a show, create a contact, draft a community post, or just take you to the right page.
Every change is confirm-first. ATOM fills in a card, you read it, edit anything that's off, and tap Save. Nothing writes to your tour because the assistant decided it should.
WHILE IT'S WORKING:
The reply is written on screen as it's generated rather than appearing all at once. When it's doing something other than writing: reading the day sheet, going through expenses, looking up a contact, confirming a hotel address. It says which. If it starts a sentence and then goes to look something up, it clears what it wrote: that was a preamble to work that hadn't happened yet. You can ask something new while it's still answering (typed or by voice): it stops the old answer and takes the new question.
TWO DIFFERENT KINDS OF "NO":
• "Your role can't open that." The feature is real and it's in your ATOM. You just don't have access. Ask your Tour Manager.
• "That lives on the artist's own login." You're on a firm account (management, business manager, agent, travel). That tool doesn't apply to this kind of account at all, so there's nobody to ask.
It will never tell you ATOM can't do something that ATOM can do.
PASSPORTS AND OTHER DOCUMENTS:
Ask about a contact and you'll get their phone, email, seat, frequent flyer, dietary needs, and whether their passport is on file and when it expires. The actual passport, Known Traveler and Global Entry numbers, plus date of birth and citizenship, only come back for roles that manage the contact sheet, and only when you're plainly asking for them (booking a flight, filling in a form). If your role can't pull them it will say so rather than pretending the card is empty. Social Security numbers are never readable by the assistant, at any role. On the contact card itself, the passport, Known Traveler and Global Entry numbers and the date of birth show hidden until you tap Reveal, for every role including the TM, so nobody reads them over your shoulder.
YOUR CONVERSATION:
The transcript lives on your device only, filed under your account and current workspace. Switching workspaces gives you that workspace's conversation, not the last one. Signing out wipes every transcript on the device, so a shared laptop doesn't hand your settlement talk to the next person. Clear chat in the drawer wipes just yours.
WHEN IT DOESN'T KNOW:
It tells you, and offers to log the question so a human can teach ATOM the answer. That's opt-in per question, you edit what gets sent before it goes, and nothing about who you are is attached to it. Nothing is kept unless you tap send.
QUESTIONS WITH ONE MEANING DON'T NEED THE AI:
What ATOM knows about itself isn't stored in the AI. It lives in ATOM's own files: the map of every screen, the help library, the touring dictionary, and your tour's day sheets. So a question with only one possible meaning is answered straight from those, instantly: a day's schedule, hotel or set list for a named date ("schedule tonight", "hotel on the 12th"), "open Per Diem", or "what is a split point". Also: one line of a day ("what time is soundcheck tomorrow"), who to call at the venue, shows left, this or next week's shows, the next show, and where you are on a date. Everything else (anything with an "and", a how-to, a change, a follow-up) goes to the AI, which is better at those. Same permissions either way.
IF THE AI IS DOWN:
If the AI side can't answer (it's out of credits, overloaded, or unreachable) or you've used up today's Yo ATOM questions, it doesn't just error out. It says so on the first line, then answers from ATOM's own knowledge: a day's schedule, hotel, notes or set list ("schedule tonight", "hotel on the 12th", "what did we play June 3"), a ride to any screen you can open ("open Per Diem"), a touring term from the dictionary ("what is a split point"), or the opening of the matching help article. Same permissions as always: a screen your role can't open gets "ask your TM", one that doesn't apply to your kind of account gets "that lives on the artist's login". It can't make changes in this mode, because building the confirm card needs the AI; it tells you so and offers the screen to do it by hand.
TALKING TO IT: hold or tap the talk button and ask out loud, and ATOM answers out loud. Everything about voice (push-to-talk, hands-free "Yo ATOM", what is never read aloud) is in the topic Talking to YO ATOM.
ALLOWANCE: each person has a YO ATOM allowance of AI use: $1.00 over a rolling 24 hours and $5.00 a calendar month. A follow-up within a few minutes costs about a cent; answers straight from the files cost nothing. Near a limit ATOM says so; past it, ATOM still answers from your tour data and its own knowledge (schedules, hotels, screens, help, touring terms) and tells you about when room frees up. This is ATOM's own usage limit, nothing to do with your tour money.
RELATED: ATOM 101 is the public tutor on the homepage. Same dictionary, no login, no access to your tour. Ask ATOM on Travel is a separate assistant for the travel desk's own book.
